As part of our commitment to being a Firewise Community, we aim to do our part to eliminate dead wood and mitigate wildfire danger on our properties. We offer wood chipping to help eliminate the fallen wood and minimize our fire risks.

To participate in the Indian Mountain Chipping Days, the following requirements must be adhered to:

  • Wood must be neatly stacked with the butt end of the trees facing the same direction. 
  • Trees must be less than 9″ in diameter. 
  • Felled trees and all wood to be chipped will be stacked along the roadways for easy access. 
  • All chippings will be broadcast back onto your property.

IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS

Ensure your wood does not have any of the following:

  • Root balls 
  • Construction materials 
  • Treated wood 
  • Nails, screws, or any metal

Inspect all wood carefully before putting it out for chipping!

CONSEQUENCES of VIOLATIONS

If prohibited items (nails, screws, metal, construction materials, etc.) are found in your wood:

  • Chipping work will stop immediately on your property. Photographs will be taken. 
  • You will be removed from the current chipping program. 
  • You may also be disqualified from future chipping services.

SAFETY & LIABILITY NOTICE

Metal, nails, screws, or construction materials can cause serious damage to the chipping equipment and poses a significant safety risk to the crew. If prohibited items cause damage to equipment or injury to a worker, the property owner will be held financially liable for all repair costs and related expenses.

PLEASE – Inspect all wood carefully before putting it out to be chipped!
