Resurfacing of Highway 285 to get underway in April

The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner Brannan Sand and Gravel will start a resurfacing treatment project along US Highway 285 in Park County on April 28. The project will extend eight miles from west of Bailey (mile point 219.75) to Pine Junction (MP 228.95). The project includes the resurfacing of US 285 and the on- and off-ramps at County Road 72, new guardrail and will add a turn-lane on northbound US 285 onto County Road 64A.

The project will enhance safety by reducing road irregularities through resurfacing. An even road surface improves vehicle control and reduces the risk of losing control, especially in wet conditions. It can also enhance visibility for drivers and decrease wear and tear on a vehicle.
