DESCRIPTION:Neighbors and friends of the Indian Mountain community\, you are warmly invited to come together on July 4th for a celebration unlike any other—the 250th anniversary of the United States of America—a once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment that marks a quarter of a millennium since a bold group of citizens dared to imagine a new kind of nation\, founded not on inheritance or might\, but on the enduring promise that liberty\, equality\, and self‑government belong to the people.  \nIn 1776\, the idea of independence was radical and risky; 250 years later\, it remains powerful\, unfinished\, and worth celebrating together. This July 4th is more than a holiday of celebration and familiar tunes—it is a rare turning of the calendar that invites us to look back with gratitude at the sacrifices\, struggles\, and achievements that shaped our country\, and forward with renewed commitment to the responsibilities we share as neighbors\, families\, and citizens.  \nAs members of the Indian Mountain community\, we know the value of coming together—of shared meals\, shared stories\, and shared pride in where we live—and this anniversary offers a meaningful chance to do just that in the spirit of unity that has carried the nation across centuries of challenge and change.  \nMore details to come in the following days. SUMMARY:Community Chipping 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Indian Mountain Chipping Week will take place from July 28th through August 8th. As part of our commitment to being a Firewise community\, we aim to do our part to eliminate dead wood and mitigate wildfire danger on our properties. We offer wood chipping to help eliminate fallen wood and minimize fire risks in Indian Mountain. \nTo do the wood chipping\, the requirements are: \n\nWood must be neatly stacked with the butt end of the trees facing the same direction.\nTrees must be less than 9″ in diameter.\nFelled trees will be stacked along the roadways for easy access.\nNo root balls\, construction materials\, treated wood\, nails\, screws\, or metal material.\nAll chippings will be broadcast back onto your property.\n\nIf you are interested in having your wood chipped this year\, please fill the RSVP form when it comes online. Wood piles should be ready by a day or two before July 28th. We will ask for pictures of your wood piles for chipping once we get closer to the deadline. \nThank you for your participation!
