DESCRIPTION:The Annual “Chili Cook-Off” on Saturday\, October 10th at 2:00pm sponsored by IMMD will be held at the IM Community Center. \nScoring Guidelines\n\nPresentation: Chile should appear appetizing and should reflect the ingredients used.\nSmell: Chili should have a pleasant aroma. The smell should also indicate what’s in store when you taste it.\nFlavor: Above all\, flavor is the most important factor. The flavor should consist of a combination of protein\, spices\, etc.\, with no ingredient being dominant.\nTexture: Chili must have a good ratio between sauce and protein. The ideal chili will have a thick consistency. It should NOT be dry\, watery\, grainy\, lumpy\, or greasy.\nOverall Impression: This can most easily be determined by the aftertaste of the chili and can be characterized as the balance created with the various spices and/or peppers. Your overall enjoyment of the chili!\n\nJudging Guidelines\n\nIf you have any food allergies\, please alert the cook!\nJudge each chili on its own merit – do not compare one chili to another\nUse a clean\, new mini spoon and mini bowl for each chili\nClear your palate between each chili – use water or saltines\nEach chili pot will be assigned a number – place your scores in the scoresheet column that corresponds to the chili being judged\nComplete your voting card and place it in ballot box!\n\n

Please bring dishes to share: Ham\, Turkey\, Salads\, Veggies\, Potato’s\, Gravy\, Rolls\, Desserts\, etc.  \nVOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need volunteers to step up and help with this event. If we don’t get enough volunteers\, we may have to cancel. Please contact Joy Ariel at 970-343-0270 \nPlease RSVP for attendance and to let us know what side dish or dessert you will be bringing.
